Using their thumbs, hand and arm, preschool and kindergarten children will a blast with this Fall Apple Tree Painting craft.

The Apple Pie Tree written by Zoe Hall, is a wonderful book to read to children about a year in the life of an apple tree.

The A Is For Apple song for children is a nice complement to this super fun kids fall Apple Tree craft activity!

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s paint an Apple Tree!

Craft supplies you will need:

  • Green, brown and red paint
  • Plastic plates
  • Paint brushes
  • White card stock

Craft instructions:

Have the children paint their forearm with brown paint.

When ready, have the children stamp their arm on white card stock,  making a tree trunk.

Next, have the children paint their hand green.

Once done, have the children press their hand on the white card stock, right above the tree trunk.  This will be the tree top.

After that, have the children wash the paint off their hand.

Then, have the children dip their thumbs in red paint and press down on the tree top, making red apples as they go!

And, voila! The children have now made an Autumn Apple Tree using their arm, hand and thumbs! 

How much fun is that!  Just the perfect craft activity for a Fall or Apple-theme unit!
